About Fighter

Siddharth Anand is the director of Fighter. Hrithik and Deepika are starring alongside Anil Kapoor. Key parts are played by Akshay Oberoi and Karan Singh Grover. The movie is supposedly a celebration of the Indian armed services’ bravery and patriotism. The story centers on Air Dragons, a brand-new special squad that the Air Headquarters activates in reaction to extremist activity in the Srinagar Valley.

Why Fighter underperformed

Speaking about the film’s below-average performance at the box office, despite receiving positive reviews and word-of-mouth, Siddharth Anand shared his thoughts on why he believes Fighter did not meet expectations. He explained, “Fighter is a significant departure from the norm. As filmmakers, we ventured into uncharted territory with this film, in terms of both genre and setting. This unfamiliarity created a lack of reference for the audience; they were unsure of what to expect. Additionally, despite having renowned stars and being helmed by a commercial director, the inclusion of planes in the storyline raised questions for some viewers. This made me question whether or not this was really my film. It’s important to note that a vast majority, around 90 percent, of our country’s population has never experienced flying or been to an airport. Therefore, it’s unrealistic to assume that they would have prior knowledge of aviation-related events.”
