Mimoh, the son of Mithun Chakraborty, has given an update on his health after being hospitalized for chest pain. He is now 100% fine.

Mithun Chakraborty, a veteran actor, was admitted to a hospital in Kolkata on Saturday morning after he reported experiencing chest problems. According to insiders close to the actor, he was feeling uneasy, so he was rushed to the hospital and is currently receiving treatment, as reported by India Today. In response, his family has now described it as “a routine checkup.”

The actor had an MRI, and other tests are presently being carried out, according to officials of the Kolkata hospital where Mithun is receiving treatment, as reported by news agency PTI. “Mithun Chakraborty was admitted this morning and is currently being examined by a physician. Later on, we will have more information to share,” the hospital representative stated.

About 10.30 am, the actor-turned-BJP politician was taken to the hospital. “We’re waiting for the MRI results. He is currently being monitored by a neuromedicine specialist, a hospital physician told PTI. The performer was in Kolkata for Shastri’s filming.

The Padma Bhushan of Mithun Chakraborty

In January 2024, Mithun—along with Mouni Roy, Subhashree Ganguly, Srabanti Chatterjee, and Puja Banerjee—was bestowed with a Padma Award, known as the Padma Bhushan. Mithun was most recently a judge on the dancing reality show dancing Bangla Dance.

Actor Mithun Chakraborty, who has appeared in almost 350 Indian films in the languages of Tamil, Bengali, Odia, Bhojpuri, and Hindi, among others, once claimed he could not believe he was getting the Padma Bhushan.

The 73-year-old actor, whose career spanned around five decades and who had his playing debut in Mrinal Sen’s Mrigaya, said in a video message last month, “After a lot of sacrifice and hard work, I have finally gotten such an honor… I am unable to articulate the feeling. I dedicate this to all of my admirers, both domestically and beyond, who have shown me unwavering devotion.”
