Ola Electric Gen 3 electric scooter On Friday, January 31, 2025, Ola Electric Mobility Limited debuted its new Gen 3 line of electric scooters. Ola’s “MoveOS 5”, their new EV operating system, is included with the new scooter line.

The new S1 Pro, S1 Pro+, and the more reasonably priced S1 X and S1 X+ have all been unveiled by the EV manufacturer.

A 3 kwh battery and a 4 kwh battery are the two battery types available with the S1 Pro. In the meanwhile, the Pro+ may be equipped with a 5.3 kW or 4 kW battery pack.

While the Ola S1 X+ only comes with a 4 kWh battery pack, the S1 X comes with options for 2, 3, and 4 kWh battery packs.

According to Ola, the Pro+ boasts a remarkable 320 km range and a peak speed of 141 kph.

Also included with the Gen 3 scooters is Ola’s unique “Brake by Wire” technology. This doubles brake pad life and increases range by 15% by balancing brake pad use and motor resistance using a sensor on the brake lever.

Because the electric motor also generates power from the braking motion, the range is improved.

Instead of hub motors like the previous generations, the scooters use an integrated Motor Control Unit (MCU) and a mid-drive motor. It is more dependable, lighter, and five times more efficient,

Additionally, the scooters include a chain drive with pre-lubricated O-rings instead of the belt drive found in earlier models. Ola anticipates that the chains will outlast the belts by twofold.

During the presentation, Aggarwal said that by December 2024, Ola Electric will have established 4,000 outlets and service centers throughout India. In November 2024, there were only about 800 stores.

The pricing of the Ola Gen 3 electric scooter

The Ola S1 X’s 2kWh model begins at ₹79,999. It costs ₹89,999 for the 3kWh version and ₹99,999 for the 4kWh version. All of them are former showroom figures. In contrast, the S1 X+ is priced at ₹1,07,99.

The 3 kWh and 4 kWh models of the S1 Pro are priced at ₹1,14,999 and ₹1,34,999, respectively.

The flagship 5.3 kWh model costs RS 1,69,999, while the top-tier Pro+ costs ₹1,54,999 for the 4 kWh model.

Orders will begin to be placed today, and deliveries will begin in the middle of February.

The new Ola Roadster X motorbike will go on sale on February 5, 2025, according to Ola’s announcement.

What happens to Ola Electric Scooters from Gen 2?

Electric scooters from the previous generation will still be available for purchase at reduced prices.

For the Gen 2 Ola S1 X, the 2kWh battery pack will cost ₹69,999, the 3kWh version will cost ₹79,999, and the 4kWh battery variant will cost ₹89,999.

The Gen 2 Ola S1 Pro, on the other hand, will only include a 4 kWh battery pack and cost ₹1, 14,999.

How did the stock of Ola Electric do?

On the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), shares of Ola Electric Mobility Ltd. were trading higher at ₹75.50 at 10:35 am IST, just before the announcement. The increase was ₹8.65, or 12.94 percent.

As of 11:30 am IST, the stock was trading at ₹75.15, up 12.42%, or by ₹8.30.
