According to the Metro, Brazilian pop singer Dani Li sadly passed away at the age of 42 following difficulties during a liposuction procedure. The singer, who is well-known in Brazil and participated in talent events in her childhood area, underwent surgery on Friday. It is understood that she had breast reduction surgery in addition to back and abdominal liposuction. Sadly, she experienced difficulties during the surgery in Brazil and needed to be taken urgently to the hospital. Danielle Fonseca Machado, also known as Ms. Li, passed away on Wednesday.
“All of this has really shook us. Her spouse, Marcelo Mira, with whom she has a 7-year-old daughter, informed local media that Saturday will be the funeral day, according to the Metro. In the wake of her passing, the family also announced on her Instagram page that a ceremony honoring “our star” will be held at a bigger location for those who would like to offer their sympathies.
The 42-year-old’s breakthrough song “Eu sou da Amazonia” (I’m from the Amazon) helped her gain widespread recognition in Brazil. She started singing at the age of five. She was born in the Amazonian town of Afua. She moved to Macapa when she was seventeen years old, having participated in talent events in her hometown. Her most recent song was only released two months prior.
Since it’s unclear what caused the medical issue, Ms. Li’s cause of death is still unknown. According to the Metro, an inquiry into her death is reportedly ongoing.
Ms. Li’s relatives posted an announcement of her passing on Facebook, thanking supporters for their well-wishes and stating that although they are “shaken,” they are doing the best they can.
In a related event, well-known Brazilian influencer Luana Andrade passed away unexpectedly last year at a hospital in Sao Paulo following knee liposuction surgery. Four heart arrests were sustained by the 29-year-old influencer following complications that developed during the cosmetic treatment.
About two and a half hours into the procedure, Ms. Andrade’s heart stopped. The doctors attempted to resuscitate her after stopping the fat-removal process. The critical care unit received her transfer. Following a medical examination, it was discovered that the influencer had a pulmonary embolism connected to thrombosis.
